Drawing her inspiration from the special within the ordinary, the designer and artist is using knitwear to communicate her very vision.
Her first collection FW10 is based on a bearded lady, Mme Clementine Delait, who lived in France in 1930. The theme runs throughout the pieces showing bearded cargoules, cardigans and capes out of selected wool.
The current work SS11 consists of joyful colours in graphical shapes on woven skirts, throusers and matching cardigans. Each collection features socks with volumpterous elements.
FW10 and SS11 have been showcased in Paris and are currently to be seen at ra 13 in Antwerpen.
Misu is showing her work through installations including sculptures and puppets in site specifique environments, proving her regard to be three dimensional. This could explain her constant exploration of over sized shapes and patterns.
To export this very univers visually she has been collaborating with Anastasia Freygang who has taken her sculptures to the streets capturing their representative life styles. Further results include video pieces and animations for the brand to be seen as part of the showroom installations.
Misu imagines her clothes to be combined with everyday pieces- being enjoyed as the spark in the everyday.
